Spirit Music

 

The music drifted in
The tension drifted out
The music lifted the spirit
Like an incoming tide
Lifting a beached boat
But unlike the still earth-bound boat
The spirit continued to soar
Rising, rising, ever upward

The music ended as it always does
But the spirit did not fall
But continued to float
On the memory of what once was
