I am an empty cup
upright and open
ready to receive drops,
thirsty.

I am an American:
always get full.
empty is not good.
run fastest
don't just walk.
jump highest
not just stand.
shout
not just speak.
speak
not just listen.
being empty
receiving drops
while being American
is hard.
